We would take a "Sun Bath" as it was called in the 60s. We had no suntan oil but we had motor oil.

And, Man , the tan we did get !

My grandmother was 37 and married my grandfather who was 61.

My Great Grandmother was 16 and married a man 36. She died in childbirth on the 12th child.

Sometime around the 80's a kid got murdered and every parent started watching their kids like a hawk. They taught their kids that old people were dangerous. So, age become a big issue. Before that, girls would marry at around 13 to a male 20 years older than them.

I don't remember anyone with a key but people in my neighborhood never locked their doors. Actually, most people's doors didn't even have a lock. Maybe a hook for screen doors to keep the door closed in order to keep the bugs out.

We always had a key hidden then our parents would be home in a couple hours after us.

I never saw anyone with a key around their neck.

Aww, honey, I'm pretty sure that everything posted has been true!!

Here's another...

When I was in elementary school, most of us wore a necklace with our house key on it. We'd ride the bus home in the evening, and our parents were at work so we would go on in by ourselves and wait until our parents got home.

A lot of people worked 2nd shift, so you might be alone until 11:30!

And nobody thought it was weird, because literally everybody did the same thing!

Look up "latchkey kids."

Remember when The Depot at Cody Creek had an unofficial "no blacks allowed" policy?

Bus drivers used to smoke on the bus, and couldn't care less if students did...

Yes, I remember student bus drivers too. We used to dare our student driver to purposefully get stuck in a muddy turn-around spot down some gruesome holler. We'd usually be successful & then have to wait for the tow driver, We would be back for our second period classes - to our great dismay, etc. lol - fun times.

When I was in high school, they only had student drivers. They paid us $35 a month.

"Remember When".
...The great Alan Jackson didn't have a rare degenerative disease - announced this week. He made that beautiful video with his high school sweetheart wife, mother of his children.

Can we remember when People named him one if the most beautiful folks on the face of this earth?
